Whether you are a teacher, student, or music professional this is an innovative way of teaching and learning rhythm.
The blocks help students to understand and conceptualize musical rhythmic patterns. They also encourage students to read music by basic, quick to recognize groupings. The blocks can be integrated into the study of actual pieces or simply creating one's own music.

Back in the 1980s, when I still was a young teacher, I already was interested in making serious musical concepts more approachable for young beginners. The blocks looked good as all kids love playing with blocks. So I bought plain colorful plastic blocks and drew musical notes with bright nail polish. Ola! Kids are engaged in learning rhythm.
A few weeks ago I found out that the same idea occurred in the mind of another music educator, Alicia Jonas. She took the same idea several steps forward: more different rhythm patterns and rests, blocks sized accordingly to the rhythm values, brochure on how to use them. Being not just a creative teacher, but also an entrepreneur, she also obtained a patent and organized a production.
With great pleasure, I purchased the set for the Do-Re-Mi teachers to use in the lessons. If you think you will use them at home with your child - don't hesitate to let me know, and we'll get them for you!
Thank you, Sylwia Gronowska, for introducing us!
